Arline/Don California, Day 4 Oct 16, 2019

I got to the state park about 10:00 am and it was really a great trip since it only took an hour and the scenery was beautiful. It is beautiful....One picture is out one window and the other is out the other window.
The Colorado River is right behind the trees and there is a trail that goes along it.  Cold wind right now so will try it later.

I guess wind is a normal thing in this canyon since they have wind shelters at each campsite.

Went out for another scooter ride this afternoon and went down the trail that is along the Colorado River.  So beautiful.

This is a picture of a telescope that is used to locate Big Horn sheep on the mountain side.  I didn't see any.
Colorado River

Just remembered a couple of other things that happened yesterday.  Coming over the Rockies traffic was stopped because crossing the Interstate 70 was a herd of deer....probably about 15-20.  The cars didn't seem to bother them much and everyone stopped to allow them to cross.  Magical.

The other thing that happened crossing the 12,000 ft pass at Copper Mountain.  I sat down to eat lunch today and pulled out a new bag of potato chips.  Well, the bottom was wide open and I lost half the bag to the floor and everything else in-between the cabinet and the table.  I know I didn't open it and the only thing I can guess is the air was at a higher pressure and broke open the bag as I came over the mountain.  Of course I am open to any other explanations......

  1. As for the bag of potato chips I think when the side window blew out it hit the chips which then hit the set of keys launching them out the now open window. Either that or mountain pressure or Jessica thinks it was a squirrel. Continue to have fun and thanks for the updates. It does look beautiful there.
