Mississippi River North (Day 7 Oct 3, 2020)

Slept very good last night.   Left St Cloud Campground after having some eggs & bacon and drove to Oakwood Campground.  Driving these last two days has really been great.  I don't think I realized how difficult driving into that strong headwind really was because these two days have been so easy.

Getting back down to where the leaves are just getting into the change....

This campground is pretty nice and laid out different than most campgrounds....they are all pull-through but are double so that one pulls in from one direction and the other pulls in from the other....then the hook-ups are between the two.....and they are all full hook-ups.  I don't think they put anyone on the site next to you until they run out of spots and they have a lot of them..

Took a nice bike ride into the town which is along the lake.  They really have a lot of neat house and most, if not all, have boats because they are right on the lake.

Took an evening walk and went to an old church that I thought had been converted into a laundry, but that was the building next door.  This church had been build in 1879 and the original owner of the RV campground had it moved to the campground because it was going to be torn down.  I opened the door and there was a guy with a broad brim hat standing at the podium.  He invited me on in and turns out he was rehearsing the sermon that he was going to give tomorrow.  Of course he invited me to come, but I will be leaving before then, so he basically gave the sermon then, which he said he gives twice per year.  Turns out he is a minister and the original owner of the campground.  We talked for about an hour....very interesting.

Heading out to a COE campground at Coralville Lake, IA tomorrow.  Just love those $10 camping sites...hope it is nice???
