Universal - May 10-11

May 10 -11, 2019:  I was suppose to leave on Saturday, May 11 but I get ready early and actually left on Friday, May 10 about noon.  I drove to Rend Lake and stayed at Gun Creek Campground, which I like COE but not listed that way.  I stayed just one night and they usually don't let me do that.  Had a great night and even got my scooter out and rode around...it was great.  I had actually not put the floor on the rack so this allowed me to do that....a little more difficult than I thought it would be.  I did forget the remote for the Firestick, so I texted David to bring it with him.....it is in my checklist now.  I left this morning about 7 am and got to my first stop about 8:30.   It was a Welcome Center for Kentucky and was a converted old mansion.  Kind of neat but got there too early to be able to tour it. Using Gas Buddy I located a station that was priced at $2.49 which is about what I paid at Costco when I left.  I drove both days at about 65 mph even though the speed limit was 70.  Of course, everyone was passing me but, for once, that was really relaxing.  Even when I was going 70 they were still passing me.  Got to the next campground which is the one I was going to get to in just one day......about noon.  So I had a lot of time, but not much to do.  I decided to get an HDMI cable to see if I could hook up the computer to the tv, so I unhooked and drove to an electronics store.  The rain hit pretty hard so I just waited in their parking lot until it slowed down.  Got back to the campground and found out that the whole campground and surrounding area had lost power....so getting the HDMI cable didn't do me any good because I need power to hook it up.  There was suppose to be a dinner and music this evening...Honky Tonkin Critters and Country Fried Steak....but with the power loss, that may not happen......such is life.....

The beginning

I am starting this blog because it is a place where I can record my thoughts, impressions, and experiences, especially on my travels in my camper 'covered wagon'.    I don't know how, when, or why but I just feel I would like to do it.  I took a trip with David, Mary, and Jessica meeting them at Universal Orlando and kept a journal in Evernote.  Well, I am thinking I might try this to see how/if I will use it in the future.
